"Cariboo Birch"
36" x 48", acrylic on canvas.
This canvas was painted from photos I took on vacation in the Cariboo, Chilcoten country. It was in the autumn and the lakes were cold and the sun's warmth was waning. The white of the Birch trunks glowed against the blues and greens of lakes and sky. I want to do many more paintings of Birch trees, I just love painting their portraits. Artist's private collection.
"Arbutus Splendor"
14" x 18", acrylic on board.
SOLD
This painting was done en plein air and then completed in my studio. The scene is from Salt Spring Island.
I don't remember where all that colour came from; I must have been enjoying myself!

"Autumn Rouge"
48" x 60", acrylic on canvas.
SOLD
This painting was done from a photograph I took on a vacation to the Algonquin Park in Ontario. As we pulled into the parkway I noticed how the sunlight was pouring through the trees, lighting up the red leaves like it was on fire. The painting was sold through a gallery in Vancouver to a lady from Ontario. It felt to me like the painting had gone home!
"Bamberton Heat"
7" x 14", acrylic on board.
This was painted on site at the old, abandoned Bamberton cement site on Vancouver Island. It was an extremely hot day and I can still feel the heat and sweat of that noon-day sun. This painting is in my personal collection; it has special meaning for me.
"Lattice and Cala Lilies"
9" x 15", Acrylic on paper.
SOLD
This is one of my favorite Cala lily paintings. I love their shapes and the creamy whiteness of their blooms.
"Cala Lilies On Bronze"
22" x 30", acrylic on paper.
SOLD
This still life painting was an attempt to "abstract" the composition. I was pleased with the outcome.
"Calendula And Tall Vase"
14" x 20", acrylic on paper.
SOLD
This is one of my favorite floral still life paintings. I wanted to give the composition a simple and graphic look.
"Summer Cottage"
14" x 32", acrylic on canvas.

This was painting was composed from a few photos that were taken on a vacation along the coast of California. It was during the Spring and the California poppies were in bloom and looked so vibrant against the blue water.
"Six Koi Fish"
22" x 30", acrylic on paper.
SOLD
It was fascinating to watch the Koi swimming in and out of the shadows and water plants of this pond.
It was a challenge to capture their movement and the sparkle of the pond water.

"Murphy"
30" x 40", acrylic on canvas.
I did this painting of our beloved Black Labrador Retriever from a photograph taken one Fall morning near Boundary Bay in Delta, B.C. The grasses in the morning light were rich rust colours that glinted with heavy due.
"My Starry Night"
36" x 36", acrylic on canvas.
SOLD
With this canvas, I was just having fun with my paints and letting my instincts move the brush and choose the colours. I started with a few black brush stokes and then let the mood take me away. The swirls and stars in the sky were done with a
silver metallic paint and glimmered in different angles of light.

"Mission Church, Taos,
New Mexico"
12" x 17", casein on paper.
A trip to Taos, New Mexico was so inspiring to me. The desert scenery was so different to the West coast scenery I was used to. The warm colours of the red rock and the sand against a brilliant blue sky got me pretty worked up and I could hardly wait to get home and start painting this new scenery.
"The Prow"
48" x 60", acrylic on canvas.
SOLD
This was painted from a photo I took of some First Nations' canoes at EXPO, held in Vancouver, B.C. in 1986. The prows silhouetted against the shimmering waters made such an intriguing pattern, I had to paint it.
"My Tangled Garden"
22" x 30", acrylic on paper.
SOLD
I went through a "sunflower phase" a few years ago and painted them several times in various compositions.
I still love them and hope to paint many more.

"Poppies Fantasia"
22" x 30", acrylic on paper.
SOLD
I absolutely love poppies. Their bright colours are glorious, especially mixed pinks and oranges. They have such a casual elegance. I've done many paintings of them; this one is one of my favorites.
"Near Capannoli, Tuscany"
42" x 48", acrylic on canvas.
SOLD
This canvas was painted from a photograph taken while on a cooking school vacation at Umberto Menghi's villa in Tuscany. That was the trip of a lifetime! The colours in Italy are so soft and warm; the early morning skies took on a beautiful mellow lavender colour. I would love to return there one day to paint en plein air and to eat wonderful Italian meals!
